During the ancient Celtic Celebration of Samhain, it is said that the veil to the Otherworld thins allowing spirits to pass through. The family's ancestors were honoured and invited home whilst harmful spirits were warded off.

At this year’s parade, just as the pipes and drums could be heard in the distance announcing the start of the Púca Parade, the heavens opened up. I want to believe it was mother nature grieving for the late Muncán - a dear friend of the Samhain Festival. The photos of his banner are a tribute to this wonderful author who was the inspiration for my Irish Language titles and my first exhibition - “Aduantas”.
