Land of Adventure
If I had to sum up British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest is one word, it would be; “Adventure” - and I love an adventure! Everything in this wild yet very accessible part of the world is geared for outdoor adventures: The rugged landscape, the incredible outdoor amenities, the wildlife, the the pickup trucks and the love for outdoor gear the people have who live in this stunning part of the world. We were staying in Vancouver for a family wedding and whilst it is a nice and multi-cultural city with lots of green spaces and a mellow vibe, the real treasures of British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest lie in the wilderness of the great outdoors. Whilst everything is very accessible and well organised, you are always very aware of the fact that you are in the nearby presence of apex predators. We got to see some of them - bald eagles in trees, on river beds and soaring high in the skies and bears both outside our house looking for food in bins and on Grouse Mountain in their natural habitat.
The below is a selection of images I took along the way that try to sum up how I saw British Columbia and the coast of the Pacific Northwest. Full of colour, ever-changing moods, and above all - a sense of impending adventure.
